Concerned About the Safety of Chiropractic Care?

“Chiropractic is Safe”. Records from research institutions, insurance claims and court cases have repeatedly shown that chiropractic is one of the safest health care professions available to the public today. Although no healthcare procedures are 100% safe, chiropractic stands strongly on its record of safety and effectiveness, unmatched in healthcare. To learn more about the safety record of chiropractic, please visit the website Chiropractic Is Safe at www.chiropracticissafe.org

We do recommend patients investigate the RELATIVE SAFETY of their health care options. Because all health care options and treatments can have associated risks, it’s wise to know how those risks COMPARE to one another. The classic example of this would be comparing the risks of chiropractic care and OTC medications for neck pain. A premier medical journal, SPINE, reported on the risks associated with taking common NSAIDS, like Advil, Alleve, Excedrin, and Tylenol. They stated that these medications are responsible for over 16,000 deaths annually in the US alone. These statistics are astounding and not commonly known. On the other hand, patients also seek chiropractic care for neck pain. The risk of serious injury following a chiropractic treatment to the neck is estimated at one incident per 4-20 million. Whiplash Injuries. Each year there are 3 million new whiplash injuries in the U.S. To learn more, visit the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
